The butterfly optimization algorithm (BOA) is a novel meta-heuristic algorithm, inspired by the intelligence foraging performance of butterflies. aim current research to minimize energy consumption an office building in Seattle using BOA. A heat transfer model was modeled EnergyPluse software and annual demand computed. two-way coupling established between takes into account non-linear interaction design variables computes building. Then computed amount would be transferred BOA, where decides about changing variables. Then, new set for simulation. Through dynamic BOA EnergyPluse, with minimum designed. impact number butterflies on also investigated. It found that 50 lead best performance. comparison present method literature methods made, which showed 15 or higher could adequately avoid local minimums reach reasonable computation effort.
